I freakin’ love this silly little book! As you can see, I had a slapdash adventure with a used manila envelope. The goal was to practice trimming, rounding, and backing again. There were two attempts, as I over-rounded the first spine and didn’t control the swell enough. The second attempt was much more successful: I added more sections (because skinny books are harder to round/back) and achieved a nice spine curve.
The manila envelope was very unforgiving: every little surface detail showed, and I looked over-caffeinated working it smooth with my bone folder before the glue had the last word. Still, it was fun! I used scraps to add design elements to the covers. The endpapers are brown kraft paper, and I used my favorite blue-and-white headbands. It felt very appropriate to leave the tail uncut.
